Paul Polman AGM speech 2010

CEO outlines plans for year ahead at annual shareholder meetings.

"I am even more convinced that we have all it takes to succeed"

Unilever completed its round of shareholder Annual General Meetings (AGMs) 2010 with events for Unilever NV at the World Trade Centre in Rotterdam on 11 May and for Unilever PLC at the Queen Elizabeth Event Conference Centre in London on 12 May.

In his speech, CEO Paul Polman detailed how Unilever performed in the previous year in the face of unprecedented economic turmoil, as well as explaining the company’s strategy to maintain its performance in the year ahead.

"In 2009 around €20 billion was added to our overall market capitalisation which, for perspective, is equal to the total market capitalisation of some of our competitors. For 2010 we will continue to focus on volume growth, improved operating margin and strong cash flow."
